Summary

In California, there is a debate about a bill which would require all public-shcool students to take climate class. Therefore, the future science textbooks might be updated climate change. The reason they want to add climate class into the science syllabus is that they want kids to know and understand about climate change, which is a phenomenon of global importance. The sate Senate agreed the bill, however, Gov. Arnold Schawrzenegger is till considering about this bill and Other Republicans in the Capito are not happy with this plan, some worry the bill may not have a good effect on students like propagandizing about environment into classes.

My opinion

I think this is a good idea to teach climate and the change of climate for students not only in public-school but also in private-school because of its reality and practicably. For example if you have knowlegde about weather, you can prevent from bad situation. In my country, we don't have enough eqiupment and technology for students to learn about climate and what it is changing, we just study a non-updated information about weather. Hopefully, someday we would have this subject in Vietnamese schools.

Maniac Magee

This is my chosen novel and I'd like to introduce something about it.
Maniac Magee is a novel written by Jerry Spinelli and was published in 1990. It won the 1991 Newbery Medal . Jerry Spinelli is the author of dozens of other children's books.
Maniac Magee writes author's story to entertain young readers as well as helping them to understand many important life lessons.
It's about prejudice, love, home, baseball, fear and understanding. It's about Jeffrey Lionel Magee, sometimes known as Maniac Magee, and about the people of the town of Two Mills.
Jeffrey's parents were killed in a trolley accident when he was 3 and he became an orphan and homeless. He had been living with his aunt and her husband for 8 years, but it was an unhappy time for him cuz his Aunt Dot and Uncle Dan hated each other. He ran away when he was 12.
After one year of running, Jeffrey arrived in Two Mills, two hundred miles away from his aunt and uncle ( he can run too fast and years later, he becomes a football and baseball superstar). Two Mills is a town divided by race into East and West End. There Jeffrey becomes "Maniac Magee", the subject of legends that have lasted ever since. In his search for a place to belong, he eventually succeeds to some degree in combining the town by forcing at least some of the Blacks and Whites to know each other.
This is such a meaningful novel that I really enjoy reading it :X
to Vi : thank you so much for lending me this book! luv u, hehe

1st entry!

This is the 1st time a creat a blog of Google, cuz I have 2 more blogs of Yahoo!360 and Yahoo!Mash ( and this is the my 1st blog in English as well :D )
My name is Quynh-Nhu, a Vietnamese name, so it's quite hard to call, but you guys can call me MiMi, it's ok. I love this name cuz all of my family always call me MiMi since I was a child ( MiMi sounds like a cat, actually, I was born in Cat year with Lunar calendar :D , therefore my mother name me Mimi - my 2nd one). Before I came here, I had been studying at Banking University of HCMC for 2 years and may major was Management Information System. But I quit my school and go to the U.S to study another major :D ( may be Finance or Marketing and Advertising )

I'm from Viet Nam - a beautiful country - with many places to visit, especially Nha Trang Beach, Ha Long Bay, Sai Gon (or Ho Chi Minh city). Sai Gon is my hometown, it's quite noisy and crowded but I love Sai Gon so much since it is related with my childhood and all of my happiness. If you have a chance to visit Asia, visiting Viet Nam is a great idea! I am sure!

I has been living in Seattle for 23 days . It's a short time so I am still unfamiliar with the cold weather here ( cuz it's hot all year long in Sai Gon), I had some little problems with my health in the 1st week, but now I'm ok :D.

During the time living here, I see that Seattle is such a clean and beautiful city that I can enjoy my life while studying. I love Seattle, too!

I like learning English here, all my teachers are so nice and humorous. I can ask questions whenever I'm not sure or don't understand clearly. I see that they has given me a lot of homewowk, but it's very useful to improve my English skills ( I know this but I'm still a little bit to do hw, hehe). I also love my school, SCCC, and love my teachers , too! ( am I greedy :D )

Life in Seattle is very different from life in VN. That's why I always try my best to adapt with the new environment and everything new in order to study well and have fun while living here.

I'd like to say THANK YOU to my teacher, Gail for introducing me to make this blog, and I could know a little about my friends in CB4 class. I hope it will be a great time to study together with you guys!
